Hiking on top of the World

We arrived at the Wlderswil train stop and purchased tickets for the Schynige Platte railway. Though crowded and long (an hour), the views were incredible on the way up (and back). The hike begins by following a trail overlooking the town of Interlaken and it's breath-taking teal blue lakes and mountains surrounding it. Since it was already later in the day, we decided to eat lunch beside the trail while admiring the view in front of us.

The trail continues along a picturesque path of kelly green grass, cloudy grey rocks, cobalt blue skies, and wild flowers of all colors. It's path winds around, up and down hills and at times through conifer trees. The inner area of this trail is just as beautiful as the lakes below and Bernese peaks of Eigar, Monch, and Jungfrau beyond.

This 4 miler packs enough beauty to fill up an entire weeks worth of hiking anywhere else. We couldn't help but be in awe the entire time. Schynige Platte is as good as it gets. This is the best hike we have ever done and an absolute must do when visiting Switzerland!
